Based on the 3000-year-old legend of Philomele and Procne, the story of The Love of the Nightingale inspired Sophocles, Ovid and Shakespeare, and continues to fascinate today.
An explosive drama about the power of words and the ultimate price of using violence to enforce silence, the story unfolds through the lives of two royal sisters from ancient Greece, taken to barbaric Thrace by King Tereus.
The creative team from Batavia come together to bring this powerful epic into modern focus.
